Part of a public forest co-owned by Volusia County and the St. Johns Water Management District, the Lake George Pier offers visitors a chance to fish and to view the area's interesting wildlife. This east shore of the second biggest freshwater lake in Florida-a widening of the St. Johns River-also features nature and horse trails and a picnic pavilion with tables and grills.
