Hickory Bluff Preserve covers 150 acres and overlooks the St. Johns River. While exploring, visitors may encounter vegetative environments such as scrubby flatwoods, wet prairie, cypress domes, oak hammocks and floodplain swamps. There are also opportunities to observe ospreys, eagles, great blue herons, gopher tortoises, river otters, bobcats, deer and other animals in their natural environment. Two trails are available for hiking, cycling and horseback riding. Group camping is allowed with a permit.
