The journey begins on a spring run leading to Lake Woodruff, continues to Lake Dexter, and finally winds through marshlands to Tick Island and Mud Lake and back to the start. Some of America's oldest pottery, bone, stone and shell artifacts have been recovered from Tick Island. Attractions along the trail include the area's rich bird life.
