Volusia County Government and Daytona International Speedway are again partnering to bring this iconic race back to the community. Named one of the seven scenic half marathons in America by Active.com, this is one of the most unique courses in the running world. With the legendary pavement and historic grandstands of the Daytona International Speedway serving as the backdrop, runners will start with a lap around the flat track. After exiting the track, runners head east towards the World’s Most Famous beach. After crossing over the beautiful Halifax River and getting a first glimpse of the Atlantic Ocean, competitors will soon reach the beach. At that point, runners will catch a breathtaking view of the ocean at sunrise, while running on a short stretch of the hard packed sand, before turning around and beginning the trip back to the Speedway and the finish line.
